Question:
I have a trailer with the 10x2 1/4inch old style hayes electric brakes 3500#axle. I need a new magnet and understand that they are no longer available. I am planing on replacing them with one of your new brake assemblies. Will your Electric Trailer Brake Kit - 10inch # AKEBRK-35 work with my hubs/drums or will I need to replace them also? Thanks

Helpful Expert Reply:
The Electric Trailer Brake Kit - 10" - Left and Right Hand Assemblies - 3,500 lbs # AKEBRK-35 will be great replacements for your Hayes assemblies. They will not require new hubs/drums.
For a similar self-adjusting assembly that requires less maintenance, you may want to consider the # AKEBRK-35-SA that will also be perfect replacements. These require adjusting only at install and will self-adjust after that to keep your brake shoes working at their best.
