Replacement Crank Handle for Atwood Trailer Jack to Provide Better Tailgate Clearance

Question:
My travel trailer currently has an Atwood trailer jack with manual sidewind handle. The dimension of the handle is similar to that AT25526. This handle is too short, and it prevents my tailgate from being open all the way down as the handle is in the way. A handle that is a couple of inches longer would solve this problem. Is there a longer replacement handle that would be a direct fit to my Atwood trailer jack? Thanks in advance for the response.

Sometimes a substitute part like a jack handle will fit on another brand of jack but we do not test items in this way since there are so many possible combinations. I did check the dimensions of an alternate handle, part # BD500171, and found that the shaft diameter on both is 3/8-inch. This handle does have a larger radius, 9-1/2-inches instead of 6-1/2 for the # AT25526. Odds are good it will fit the jack.
But if you want the sure thing just replace the A-frame jack with a side-frame-mount type swivel jack like one of those shown on the linked page. These bolt-on jacks attach to your chosen spot on the frame member so they avoid the clearance issue with the tailgate. We have them both with wheels like # FXPD15L and with foot plates like # DL22320.
