Question:

I have a pwc shorelander trailer with the water tight tail lights which arent working. How in the heck do you get them apart to try changinb bulbs??

Most submersible tail light assemblies are constructed so that the bulbs are not accessible, although some feature lenses that are held on by screws with a gasket to keep the water out, like the Optronics lamp you referenced. If the bulb is indeed burned out, you will have to replace the lamp assembly.

Before replacing the lamp assemblies, I would recommend confirming that the bulb is actually bad by using a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 on the wiring behind the tail lamps. It is rare for the lamps on both sides to burn out at the same time. It is more likely that there is a wiring problem that is preventing the lamps from working in the first place.

You should also check the trailer connector on the vehicle, using a tester like the one mentioned above. Test each pin as its function is activated. Make sure that the connector on the vehicle and the trailer is in good condition, with no damage or corrosion. Check the point where the wires enter the connector on the trailer (that is where mine go bad). Trace each circuit back to its lamp, looking for pinched or broken wires.
