Just wondering if possible to weld instead of bolt on. Seems long enough...

If you wanted to weld on the Demco Channel Tongue Trailer Coupler # DM15000-52 that you referenced you could. This is powdercoated so you'd need to sand off the powdercoating where you plan to weld.
