Hi everyone. Steve here with etrailer.com. Today, we're looking at this Dexter UFP CD-200 coupler. Now, it's a 2-5/16th inch ball coupler. It has a nice drop built into it, as you can see, and it's made for a three by five inch trailer tong. Now, this is a weld-on, rated at 20,000 pounds capacity.
Now folks, this is what we consider a low profile latch and everything. It's super easy to use and operate, and it gives you a secure connection. The over center mechanism only engages when the coupler is fully seated onto the hitch ball, and it has a built-in drop, again, as you can see, going down to help match the height of your tow vehicle. Now, when it's installed, it would look something like this, again, weld-on. It's a nice durable steel construction, and simply pull the pin here.
That'll allow you to open, and then obviously, you drop it down on the ball, and then you're able to close that mechanism and then lock it back in place with the pin and clip here. Now, one thing that I like, if you'll notice, they recessed where that wire gets attached down inside of there, which is a really nice feature a lot of people don't think about. That's one less thing you could potentially hit and knock off this cable, which if you've probably done it in the past, you know how easy that is to do by mistake, just by hitting things. And, they've also got the safety chain attachments here underneath the head of the coupler, which is really nice, as well. Again, you're looking at a three by five channel that this would mount to.
It is a raw finish, or you know, just a plain finish as I call it. So you would have to, after welding it, put an nice coat of primer and paint it and everything to match either your trailer or what kind of looks you're looking for. But, it's ready to go, ready to be welded on. Again, rated at 20,000 pounds. The tubing thickness is a 0.180, as far as the thickness.
Well, that's gonna wrap it up for our look together, folks. I'm Steven. Thanks for watching.
