Question:
I have a single axle boat trailer with a 1790 boat on it. Can I remove the hydraulic hitch and replace it with a regular 3500 hitch?

Hello Jay; yes, it is possible to remove your hydraulic actuator and replace it with a regular coupler. If your hydraulic hitch is just bolted on, you can simply unbolt it and replace it.
If the hitch is welded on, a bit more work will be involved. The old unit will need to be removed, and additional material may need to be added to the tongue. Demco Channel Tongue Trailer Coupler # DM15000-52. The Demco eZ-latch is extremely durable and easy to use - way better than any other coupler. It will work with any 3" trailer tongue and it has bolt holes 3" apart on center.
