Will a Roadmaster Anti-Sway Bar Help to Prevent Sway While Towing a 5th Wheel Trailer
Published 10/11/2017 >
Question:
Ok, thank you for your response. My truck is a 2002 Ford F-350 4x4, Automatic, 7.3L Diesel with an 8ft bed. I also added a set of Air Bags - Unlimited Heavy Duty. When Towing I adjust the Air Bags to haul a level Truck and Trailer. After we bought our 5th wheel we noticed that I can only Tow at 60 mph comfortable. The truck has single axle, with 3.73 Differential Gears. Now I am thinking of adding a F-450 Dually for better stability or out Wider 10ply tires on the truck. I am currently running 265/70R/17. Also add the Sway bar. Do you have any suggestions for me! Thank you.

Installing an anti-sway bar like the Roadmaster # RM-1139-160 for 2002 Ford F-350 and F-450 Cab and Chassis will help to reduce the sway that you are experiencing while pulling your 5th wheel trailer, but they will not completely prevent it. An anti-sway bar helps to fight the effects of crosswinds, passing motorists, and shifting cargo.
If you let me know the specific year/make/model of your tow vehicle I can make a recommendation for you.
Another thing that will help to reduce sway while pulling your 5th wheel would be to ensure that the trailer is level and is loaded properly.
