When Flat Towing a 2007 Honda CR- V, Is Roadmaster Falcon 2 Tow Bar Compatible?

Updated 10/08/2017 | Published 10/07/2017

Question:

About two years ago I purchased a Falcon 2 tow bar and base plate kit for my suzuki sidekick. I bought a Honda CRV 2007 recently for work but wanted to know if the Falcon tow bar would work on it if I purchased a base plate kit for it. Its a 4 wheel drive and the owners manual says the only way it can be towed is four wheels down. If I can do it without buying another tow bar I would do it. Would sell the suzuki. Dont need two toads. Thanks

Yes, you can use your existing tow bar, the Falcon 2 Tow Bar # RM-520, with your 2007 Honda CR-V as long as you do not have a model with a brush guard. The Falcon 2 is compatible with all Roadmaster vehicle-specific base plates. I recommend the Roadmaster EZ4 Base Plate Kit, # RM-521559-4. This kit has removable arms and the Twistlock brackets are virtually invisible, easy to mount and simple to remove. I've attached a couple of photos so that you can see what the base plates will look like on your CR-V.

Since you have been flat-towing your Sidekick, you probably already have a supplemental braking system like the Roadmaster InvisiBrake, # RM-8700, and safety chains, # RM-643. You will also need tow bar wiring kit like # HM56300 and a fuse bypass, # RM76511, so that you don't have to remove fuses each time you flat tow. another popular accessory for Honda CR-V owners is the High-Low Adapter, # RM-076.

I've attached some videos and articles that may be helpful. If you have any other questions, I'd be happy to get you additional information.
