Recommended Electric Trailer Jack and Weight Distribution System for 2015 Jayco Jay Flight 32bhds

Published 09/29/2017

Question:

I have a 2015 Jayco Jay Flight 32 BHDS and wishing to purchasing a powered jack for the A-Frame on the trailer. The GVWR on the trailer is 9,975 lbs. What model do you suggest? Also need to purchase a weight distribution/sway control hitch for the same trailer. I will pull the trailer with a 2013 Ford F-150 4x4 Lariat with factory installed tow package. What hitch system do you recommend? Thanks

For your 2015 Jayco Jay Flight 32BHDS trailer, I recommend the Stromberg Carlson Electric Trailer Jack - Drop Leg - A-Frame - 23" Lift - 5,000 lbs - Black, Item # JET-5000. This has a higher capacity than you need which makes it work faster and last longer.

For a weight distribution system, we need to base the decision off of the total tongue weight, which is the loaded trailer tongue weight as well as any cargo behind the rear axle of your 2013 Ford F-150. The dry weight of your trailer tongue weight is 840 so we will need to estimate the loaded weight and the cargo behind the rear axle of your truck. Based on that, I recommend the Strait-Line Weight Distribution System w Sway Control # RP66084. This system will allow for that total tongue weight to range between 600-1200 lbs which puts your trailer right in the middle sweet spot. This system is the only one that actively fights sway before it happens with its dual cams and hot rolled spring bars. This is my favorite system because it will help keep your trailer in line at all times to make driving much more of a relaxing experience. You will need a hitch ball like # 19286 for this system.

I've attached some videos and an article to assist. Let me know if you have any questions.
