Question:
I have a military M105A2 Trailer, with the 6 bolt pattern, 5500lbs axle. I want to convert the axle to a 5x5.5 bolt patter with electric brakes. I saw a complete for sale on our site but its a 5x4.5 bolt patters. Give me your best advice on converting the brakes to electric. I have a 2013 Durango with the 7 blade connector and the electric brake connector.

For your brake assemblies, you will want the Electric Trailer Brake Kit - Self-Adjusting - 12" - Left and Right Hand Assemblies # AKEBRK-7-SA which will need adjusting at installation, but then will self-adjust to give you excellent braking as the pads wear over time. You will need to run wire to these assemblies and I recommend the # 10-2-1 sold by the foot to connect these assemblies to your 7-way. To make your connections clean, I recommend the etrailer 7-Way Molded Trailer Plug with Junction Box # E99011 which will give you clean protected connections and a molded trailer plug that will connect to your Durango. For the 10 gauge brake wire, you will need ring terminals # 44-5310A. The junction box is coded for easy connection and future troubleshooting if needed.
This will all work with your current hubs and drums. Unfortunately we don't have hubs for your axle size that will work with the 5 on 5.5 inch bolt pattern or the 5 on 4.5 bolt pattern. You will need 6 on 5-1/2 or 8 on 6-1/2 for your size axle.
