Replacement 2-1/2 Inch Shank with 6 Inch Drop for Curt Weight Distribution System
Published 09/21/2017 >
Question:
Team, I have a 32foot travel trailer that weights ~9500 lbs loaded. The weight distribution system will fit a 2inch receiver. However, I recently purchased a truck that sits 6inch higher than my old truck and has a 2.5inch receiver. I need a hitch system that provides enough drop and can accommodate without using a adapter sleeve. Any ideas?

I have good news!
For the most part, weight distribution shanks are interchangeable between different manufacturers. For your existing Curt Weight Distribution System, I recommend changing to the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Shank # EQ90-02-4900. This adjustable shank is designed for 2-1/2 inch receivers like what you have on your new truck, and has a drop of up to 6 inches. This should work perfectly with your current setup and will be compatible with your existing weight distribution system.
I have also attached a short video demonstration on this product that you can check out.
