Question:
I hooked these lights up to my car, but they do not turn on. Is this because my honda civic runs on 12v? What could I do to get them to work?

The square LED trailer light, part # MCL36AB, is designed to be used on 12 volt systems, usually as a clearance light for a trailer. As long as the black wire is attached to a 12 volt power source and the white wire is grounded, this light will illuminate.
I would recommend you test the wires from your Honda Civic with a Circuit Tester, part # PTW2993, and make sure that the wires you are using have 12 volts when you are wanting this light to illuminate. The next thing you should check is the ground wire. You will want to make sure the ground wire is attached to a clean metal area on the frame of your Civic.
