Question:

We have a 2012 Honda Ridgeline truck. Could you recommend a truck bed bike pad/bike rack for this model of truck. It sounds like from the reviews the soft padded rack that goes over the tailgate works well. Thanks so much for your help!!

I actually agree with the crowd here-- The Thule Gate Mate, part # TH823PRO is probably the king of the crop for this type of bike rack. Being able to carry four bikes easily with the added side-bumpers to keep the bikes on the tailgate is the best features available for this rack.

I also recommend a few extras to make your life a little easier when using this rack. First, the Thule Load straps, part # TH521 to secure the bikes together. This will let you worry less about them sliding around by letting you connect them together through the included bumper strap.

I've included a video of this particular rack in action on a 2017 Honda Ridgeline so you can get an idea of how it works in practice, as well as a more complete review that includes video of it out on the road towards the end.
