Will the Air Lift AirLift 1000 Air Helper Springs for Coil Springs Part # AL60769 Raise the Vehicle

Updated 08/24/2017 | Published 08/21/2017

Question:

I am currently unhappy about my rear ride height and I am not sure which component is the cause of this. I recently installed shocks, rear springs, and a Air Bag 1000 kit. Currently the rear rides VERY high. The Setup - Shocks: MONROE 34501- Front MONROE 34692 - Rear Rear Springs: Moog 81069 Rear Air Bags: AL60769 The shocks I installed were labeled HD and by looking at the specs they should have raised the ride height by 1 inch but it raised it more like 3 inches. Front is at stock ride height and truck has 200K. Airbags have zero PSI in them. Are the bags causing the springs not to settle as much as they should? Let me know if you need anymore info about my setup.

The Air Lift AirLift 1000 Air Helper Springs for Coil Springs part # AL60769 will not raise the vehicle when filled to the lowest air pressure rating of 5 psi or when filled to the max air pressure rating of 100 psi. These coil spring airbags will stiffen the rear suspension when filled, not raise it. I recommend keeping the airbags at a minimum of 5 psi as this will ensure the airbags do not become damaged or deformed.

In regards to the suspension components you installed, the shocks will also not raise or lower the vehicle but the coil spacings can. After installing a new set of coil springs on your vehicle it will take them some time to adjust and compress to ride height. If the coil springs do not compress once they have had a bearing load on them after a few days of driving then you may want to switch to a shorter spring to better suit your needs.
