Question:
I have a 2007 Dodge Megacab 2500 Cummins 4x4 that I am looking to add air helper springs to. I have the KORE suspension lift installed which gave me approximately 2 of lift in the front and closer to 1 in the back. I drive bad drilling rig roads and off road in the mountains often creating my suspension to flex a lot. What springs do you have to offer that would increase my load capacity in the back but still retain the very good ride on bad roads and off road flex that I have? Will the air helper springs tear apart if I flex too much? are there air helper springs for a long travel set up? Is it something that I need not be concerned about?

Expert Reply:
The Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs, item # F2299, is the correct air spring kit for your 2007 Dodge Megacab 2500 Cummins 4x4, and will help to reduce the amount of flex in your suspension on bad roads. You will also be able to adjust the air pressure in the springs to customize the ride depending on whether you will be on bad roads or just on the highway.
Suspension enhancement kits do not increase load capacity. The manufacturer determines the load capacity of the vehicle and those figures need to be adhered to closely for safety.
Air springs are very tough and do not easily tear or flex past design. Unless there is contact from other items or debris you will not need to worry about damage.
We do not have a spring available for a long travel setup, but we do have the Firestone Axle Bracket Extension Kit, item # F2506, for 2 inch lifted vehicles, that will work for your suspension with a lift.
Finally, I would not be too concerned, but any enhancement system you add to the vehicle suspension will increase the life of the suspension on your vehicle.
