Recommended Automatic Battery Disconnect for 2015 Ford Edge with Supplemental Braking System

Question:

The manual says that the vehicle can be flat towed but also says that you need to disconnect the battery before doing it. Since I do not see a battery disconnect kit are you suggesting that it doesnt need to be done or are you suggesting that you physically disconnect it each time. Also if it is disconnected as required will the supplemental braking system still work as described since there would be no power if the breakaway was activated.

Since the battery in your 2015 Ford Edge needs to be disconnected before flat towing the vehicle, I recommend using the Roadmaster Automatic Battery Disconnect with Switch # RM-766. This is confirmed to work on your Edge and will allow for convenient disconnect of your battery. This system includes a switch that can be installed inside your vehicle for simple and easy operation.

To power a supplemental braking system like the Roadmaster Even Brake # RM-9400 with the battery disconnected, you will just need to add the 12 Volt Outlet Kit # RM-9332. This product is the solution for vehicles like yours that need the battery disconnected as it will wire directly to the battery to allow you to get a power source for just the braking system, while leaving the rest of the vehicle wiring turned off. With this braking system you will also need the Roadmaster Stop Light Switch Kit # RM-751475 for your vehicle. This will ensure that the braking system is functioning properly.
