Question:

We have a 2016 26 ft. KZ Sportsman Travel Trailer and I want to install a frame mounted receiver hitch for a tray to carry two folding bikes one trike and one bike see attached photo. The trailers main frame is 2 zee channels whos outboard vertical surfaces are 68-1/2 inches apart. The bottom of the zees extend 3-3/4 inches below the rear bumper see photos Ive been looking at the Curt 13703 but it appears to me if I use the supplied mounting brackets, the receiver receptacle will extend about 4 inches below the bottom of the zee and the bottom of the mounting bracket another 3 to 4 inches below that. This only leaves about 10 inches clearance to the ground which I believe is not enough at the back of the trailer. I would like to find a receiver that would put the receptacle about even with the bottom of the zees or slightly lower. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you.

The trailer hitch receiver I recommend is the Ultra-Fab # UF35-946403. This trailer hitch welds onto the trailer frame. This hitch will work with I-beam, C-channel or rectangular trailer frames and adjusts to work with frames from 47-1/8 to 77 inches.

You can compare the mounting bracket of the # UF35-946403 hitch to the Curt hitch # 13703. The Ultra-Fab hitch will sit about 3 inches higher than the Ultra-Fab hitch does. I have attached a photo of both hitches you can compare.
