For your 1998 Honda Civic, I recommend the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4" # 24677. This installation will be the same as that for the 1994 you saw. I've attached that video to assist.
If you will be using this hitch for light towing, I recommend the Draw-Tite Drawbar # 3593 along with a 1-7/8 inch hitch ball # 19256 or a 2 inch hitch ball # 19258.
For your wiring harness, I recommend the Tekonsha Upgraded Circuit Protected Tail Light Converter Hardwire Kit with 4-Pole Connector (Includes Tester) # 119178KIT. This harness is easy to connect using quick splice connectors. I've attached videos to help with this install as well.
