Question:

I am placing an order for the Yakima holdup and hitch lock. I understand that they can be programmed to use the same key. Can this be done when this is ordered or do I need to purchase the separate interior cylinder ?

Yes, a Yakima HitchLock, part # Y07235, can be keyed to match the cable lock on the Yakima Holdup 2 Bike Rack, part # Y02443.

You will need to find the lock number stamped on the front of the lock cylinder on the Holdup # Y02433 and then enter that number on the product page of the Replacement Lock Core for Yakima Same Key System, and then click add to cart. I have included a link to the page for the Yakima Replacement Lock Cores. You will need to match the number of your key, for example A133 for # Y8771-A133, to the matching lock core.

You will also need a Replacement Control Key for Yakima Same Key System, part # Y8007835, to remove the lock from the hitch lock.

Finally, you will insert the new lock cylinder that you purchased into the HitchLock and you will be able to unlock the HitchLock with the same key used for the Holdup cable lock.

At this time the hitch lock and bike rack cannot be ordered keyed alike.
