Can I install this winch on a converted utility trailer it has a welded bar for a winch for a 300 lb. Boat, and if so, can it be used with the ball adapter, or must it be mounted permanently

The Dutton-Lainson TW4000 StrongArm Electric Winch # DL25200 is a great option for you. It can be mounted directly to your trailer or you can use the hitch ball adapter plate # DL24053 to use with your trailer hitch ball.

The Dutton-Lainson StrongArm Electric Winch #DL25215 doesn't come with a mounting plate but you can use part #DL24055 or #DL24059 if your current mounting bracket doesn't match with the mounting hole pattern for this winch (see attached).
