Do Hub Races Have to Be Changed if Different Brand of Bearings Are Installed

Question:

I have L44649 and L68149, do I have to buy matching races if I buy new bearings from a different manufacturer? I have koko bearings and races, if I buy Temken bearings to I need to swap the races too?

No, so long as you replace your worn bearings with appropriate equivalent ones from another brand the races do not automatically have to be changed too, but there is certainly a chance that if the bearing are shot the races may have wear too. This should not be difficult to see though. You can inspect the races and your spindles for signs of scoring or discoloration from excess hear. If they all look good then replacing your bearings alone is okay.
