If your old drums are fading or dragging, this DeeMaxx 13" disc brake kit delivers a big upgrade in stopping power and control. The one-piece hub-and-rotor design keeps everything balanced and sealed, reducing uneven wear and keeping debris out. Ceramic brake pads and a stainless steel piston give fast, responsive braking that stays smooth and steady mile after mile.
Corrosion can ruin lesser brakes fast, especially around saltwater or winter roads. DeeMaxx’s Maxx coating on the rotors, calipers, and brackets provides over 1,000 hours of salt spray protection—far outperforming zinc or Dacromet finishes. Drainage holes in the hat section let water escape quickly to prevent internal rust, making these brakes ideal for tough environments.
When you’re towing heavy or driving downhill, heat buildup can cause brake fade. These vented 13" rotors move air through the core to shed heat quickly and maintain consistent performance. The design keeps pads from wearing prematurely and ensures dependable braking even under sustained load or high temperatures.
DeeMaxx makes upkeep simple with laser-etched bleeding instructions right on the caliper—no need to hunt for a manual when it’s time to service the system. The kit includes assemblies for one axle with pre-installed bearings, races, oil seals, oil caps, wheel bolts, and lug nuts. With fewer moving parts than drum brakes and no springs or magnets to adjust, they’re easy to maintain and built to last.
Engineered for strength and durability, this hydraulic disc brake kit fits #42 spindles and handles up to 8,000 lbs per axle. The automotive-grade build quality, 9/16" wheel bolts, and long-lasting components reflect its high test standards—including passing the SAE J2681 automotive brake test. Backed by a 7-year warranty, these brakes are made to deliver consistent performance season after season.

Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today I'm gonna take a look at the DeeMaxx 13 inch Threaded Hub and Rotor Assembly Kit with the eight on six and a half inch bolt pattern. It has the nine 16 inch studs for 8,000 pound axles. And these have a Max coating on them. Now this kit here will let you upgrade your trailer from drum to disk brakes for superior performance.
We mentioned, these are threaded hubs, which are mostly used on oil bath axles. This kit will include everything laid out here on the table. We're gonna go through all the pieces. And we'll start with the hub and rotor assemblies. Again, these are two Max coated cast iron threaded hub and rotor assemblies.
They do have the bearing races already pre-installed in them. Comes also with the two inner bearings, the two outer bearings, the two oil seals, the two threaded oil caps, which are designed to screw into the hub right there. And then if you notice, it also has the 16, nine 16ths by 18 lug nuts to hold your tire and wheel to this. And the two Max coated calipers with the brake pads and the bolts. And over here, the two Max coated caliper mounting brackets.
Now this will require a hydraulic brake actuator that's rated at 1500 PSI or above, and brake lines to activate your brakes. Those items we do so separately on our website. Now this is great for towing and launching your boat in either fresh or even brackish type water. These are corrosion resistant Max coated finished, on the hub rotors, the brackets, the calipers have a salt spray rating of over a thousand hours. The drainage holes, if I turn this, so you can see on the hat section here of the hub, these holes go all the way around.
These are drainage holes that allow the water to drain easily. Helps minimize corrosion. Now this kit offers dramatically shorter stopping distances and smooth, controlled braking. I did wanna zoom in and show you, they do come with the ceramic brake pads in the calipers. This will increase stopping power. And the piston used on this as a stainless steel piston, and the diameter on it is two and a quarter inches. So it provides fast, responsive braking. Now this kit does require minimal maintenance, saving you time and money. And even what's neat, is if you noticed on the outside of the caliper, they actually laser etch instructions on there to take the guesswork out of installing them and bleeding the brakes. Now these are a one piece hub and rotor assembly. They reduce the chance of uneven rotor wear. They are vented, as you can see right here. The vent it design dissipates heat faster, prevents premature brake pad wear. And again, this kit is designed to fit Dexter 8,000 pound axles with the number 42 spindle. The wheel size that'll work on this is 16 inches and larger. We mentioned the bolt pattern of eight on six and a half inches. Wheel bolt diameter of nine 16ths of an inch. The rotor diameter we mentioned is 13 inches. And on the brake caliper brackets right here that'll hold your calipers onto the rotors, if you notice, there's four holes here. So it is designed to fit onto a four bolt brake flange configuration, which is on your axle. But that should do it for a look at the DeeMaxx 13 inch Threaded Hub and Rotor Assembly Kit, eight on six and a half inch bolt pattern with the nine 16ths inch studs for 8,000 pound axles.
