Solution for Mounting Roof Bike Rack on Sheet Metal Roof

Question:
Could this rack be mounted onto other surfaced? like, through the holes of an expanded metal sheet? I saw the part of the video where she tightens the bolts on the roof rack, but its not clear to me if those bolts could be completely removed, and re-ed on the other side of a flat surface. Thank you.

I wouldn't say what you are trying to do is impossible, but it's not recommended for sure. The mounting studs would be too small to spread the weight of the rack through so it would most likely bend the sheet metal.
You'd be better off installing the roof rack part # S80510 first on the sheet metal then installing the part # RKY1222.
