On your 2016 Ram 1500, the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # 13374 will be an excellent choice to pull a trailer with lawn mower. This is a nicely designed hitch receiver that is made in the USA and has a very strong capacity. It is a bolt-on installation that requires no drilling but you will need to temporarily lower your spare tire for installation.

If you don't already have a factory 7-way wiring connector, I recommend the 4 Pole Harness and Hardwire Kit - Includes Tester # C59496. This allows you to use the quick splice connectors to easily connect your wiring. You will need to run a power wire to the battery for the ModuLite that will protect your factory wiring system from overload. I've attached and article to assist with this wire routing.

For a ball mount, I recommend the B&W Tow & Stow 2-Ball Mount - 2" Hitch - 5" Drop, 5-1/2" Rise - 10K - Black # BWTS10037B. This ball mount is adjustable to allow you to tow many trailers level. It has two hitch ball options, a 2 inch and a 2-5/16 inch to fit with most standard trailer couplers. This ball mount also has a unique stowable feature to give you a clean look when not in use and protect you from hitting your shins while loading and unloading when not in use.
