Question:
I have a 2016 Yukon XL. The top of the receiver is 23 1/2 from the ground. Im towing a 2001 Malibu with a SMP trailer. The clearance of the prop protector with a 7 3/4 ball mount is 5 3/8 and the ball clearance is ~14. When I the tongue by 2 inches to simulate a 10inch . The clearance of the prop protector is 6 1/4 and the ball clearance s to 12. My problem is the prop protector drags when I come into my drive way. What would be the best, a 10inch or a 12inch ball mount? 10 : 6 1/4 prop protector clearance, 12 ball clearance 12 : 7 1/8 prop protector clearance, 10 ball clearance

If I understand you correctly, it sound like you have a couple of things going. On level ground you want to tow as level as possible, but you don't want to bang up your trailer going in and out of your driveway. I recommend you go with an adjustable ball mount like the Gen-Y Adjustable 2-Ball Mount w/ Stacked Receivers - 2" Hitch - 12-1/2" Drop - 16K # 325-GH-516 or the 15" Drop - 10K # 325-GH-317. This comes with the adjustability to adjust the hitch ball down to give you the driveway clearance you need and the ability to re-adjust and tow level once you have cleared the driveway.
I've attached a ball mount measurement article to further help so you can determine angles needed and correct height for clearances needed.
