Is Drilling Safe for Installing Curt Front Hitch on 2007 Dodge Ram 1500

Question:
I recently purchased this curt front hitch from e trailer. The mechanic that is planning to install for me is concerned that drilling the mounting holes in the recommended part of the frame is an issue. He believes that it is a designed crumple zone in the front end. Is this something to be concerned with?If so, what are my other options?

The Curt hitch part # 31320 attaches to the frame of your 2007 Dodge Ram 1500. The frame of a vehicle would not be a "crumple zone" and this hitch has been tested on your vehicle to be safe. The front end part of a vehicle that is designed to crumple in accidents is the bumper not the frame.
