Question:

I have a 2010 Toyota Rav 4 with the spare wheel casing on the hatch door. I am looking for an easy to install, somewhat light in weight but durable bike rack to carry my Cannondale Jekyll and my sons 12inch Trek Mtn bike. Any ideas on what product best fits these requirements?

When we installed the etrailer hitch part # e98864 on a 2010 Toyota RAV4 we found that it had a distance of 8 inches from the hitch pin hole to the outside portion of the spare tire carrier casing. That's a pretty reasonable amount of clearance for fitting a hitch bike rack.
