GVWR Have installed a Draw-Tite receiver hitch #75586 along with Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring for the Toyota Highlander, 2011, part #118449 Id like your recommendation on which Tekonsha brake controller to go with and what additional electrical harness Ill need to hook up the R-PODs electric brakes. I believe the R-POD has a 7 prong connector. The Tow Ready harness ends with a 4 prong at the back.

I would recommend using the Brake Controller 7 and 4 Way Installation Kit, item # ETBC7, along with the Tow Ready Harness, # 118449, that you have installed on your vehicle. This kit has all of the wiring, circuit breakers and connectors that are needed to complete a professional looking installation. We also have detailed instructions that guide you through installing this kit, see link.
When performing the installation just make sure that the Red wire, from the Brake Controller you choose, is attached to the brake switch wire that only has power when the brake pedal is pressed. I would recommend the Prodigy P2, item # 90885, because it is easy to set up and gets great reviews from our customers.
We have a two part video, see link, showing the installation of these parts on a 2008 FJ Cruiser. The installation will be very similar on your Highlander.
There is not a connector supplied under the dash by the manufacturer, for use of the Tekonsha brake controller wiring, item # 3040-P, on the 2011 Toyota Highlander.
