Hooking Safety Chains to Class V Factory Trailer Hitch on 2014 GMC Sierra
Updated 05/24/2017 | Published 05/23/2017 >
Question:
As with many people, Im having the same problem finding a slip hook big enough to fit the factory class V on my 2014 GMC Sierra. Is there a Anchor Shackle big enough to go thru the hole of hitch that would allow the slip hook to fit over it ?

The best option for using safety chains with the Class V factory trailer hitch on your 2014 GMC Sierra is simply to loop safety cables like # RM-910648-12 through each chain hole and secure the ends together. You can then just attach your safety chains from the trailer to the quick links on these cables. These have a weight capacity of 8,000 pounds.
We have not yet found a hook that is able to fit directly with the factory trailer hitch on your Sierra.
