Troubleshooting The Electric Steps For Replacement Motor Or Module Needed

Updated 05/23/2017 | Published 05/21/2017

Question:

With door opened, triggering the steps to extend, I am getting no movement however the yellow ground light flashes at times like a bad connection somewhere. Does this sound like a bad module or could it be motor? I need to buy the correct replacement part you carry. Please advise, Thanks!!!!

I recommend testing the motor first. To test its operation, you simply give the two wires into it a power and a ground to a battery. This should engage the motor. If the motor is bad, you will want the Replacement Motor for Lippert Electric Coach Step # LC301695.

If it isn't the motor, then the lack of movement on your steps with the flashing light is a bad control module. I recommend the Replacement Control Module for Lippert Electric Coach Step # LC301702.

I also recommend checking all your wiring especially your ground connection for any issues. Sometimes simple wiring connections can be the issue and a little cleaning can solve it without replacing parts.
