Connecting a Hitch Light to 4-Way on a 2015 Ford F-150 So it Doesn't Deactivate Blind Spot Detector

Question:

I have a 2015 F150 with the trailer tow package. When I try to add a hitch light, the trailer detect is activated and my blind spot detector is disabled. Is there a method to connect a hitch light without connecting to the existing 4 pole plug and not have a trailer detected?

The easiest way to connect your hitch light to your 2015 Ford F-150 without it deactivating the Blind Spot Detector would be to install an aftermarket 4-Pole Connector.

All you need to do is use the Curt 4-Pole Trailer Connector, part # C58044, and splice into your F-150's lights directly behind the tail light housing. The wire configuration will be:

Yellow - Left turn/brake
Green - Right turn/brake
Brown - Tail lights
White - Ground

This should bypass the sensors for your Blind Spot Detector so that your hitch light will work properly and you will still have an active Blind Spot Detector system.
