Helpful Expert Reply:
The most popular Blue Ox tow bar among owners of the Buick Lacrosse is their Alpha, part # BX7380. This will work great with their base plate kit # BX1515. This bar offers a 6500-lb capacity (which gives you a nice safety margin) and it includes the legally-required safety cables which are one of the other components required for safe flat towing. Each of the components needed to flat tow is outlined in the linked overview article. Two additional articles on braking systems and high/low hitch adapters are linked for you too.
