Gooseneck Hitch Compatible with Curt X-adapter and Curt Sliding 5th Wheel

Question:

I purchased the #C16210 and #C16536. To my disappointment, the under bed hitch I have has a ring built into the bottom of it to keep the ball from falling through when turned over....this will not allow the C16210 to seat into the bed. Additionally, the ball is a 3-inch diameter, the C16210 has a 2.75 inch , which will leave 1/4 inch of slop in it if I modify it to through. My thought is to removed the current hitch center section underneath and replace it with a Curt EZr #60611. From the pictures, the bolt holes are in the same places....but, I need to know how wide the is...the current frame bracket I have installed is 5.75 between the rails...I am hoping this is somewhat standard between brands, but am asking if someone can confirm this measurement for me?

The Curt EZr # C60611 you mentioned for your 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 is confirmed to fit your truck, but is not a confirmed fit with your adapter. That would require the Curt X5 5th-Wheel Base Rail Adapter Plate for EZr Double Lock Gooseneck Trailer Hitch # C16220.

I reached out to my contacts at Curt Tech support to make sure we get you what you need and they confirmed that the hitch you need to be compatible with your components and your truck is the Curt Double Lock, Flip and Store Underbed Gooseneck Hitch w/ Installation Kit - 30,000 lbs # C607-661. If you just want the hitch portion it is # C60607 and that measurement you requested is 24.3 inches by 7.75 inches, but this obviously does not fit the rails you mentioned.
