I intend to use the rack for a 12foot aluminum boat. Weight approximately 250 lbs. Any concerns?

I have no hesitations with you using a TracRac System with a 12 foot aluminum boat weighing around 250 lbs. The TracRac G2 has been discontinued and replaced with the SR (Sliding Rack) the only change is in name.
If you have a 6-1/2 foot bed, I recommend the # TH43002XT-610EX.
If you have an 8 foot bed, I recommend the # TH43002XT-011 or the # TH43003XT-510 with over the cab extention.
Each rack comes with 4 load stops, but if you want more tie down points I recommend the Tie-Down Loops for TracRac Ladder Rack Crossbars # TAPI-11019.
If you want rail pads, I recommend the Thule Surf Pad # TH845000 that have straps that will accommodate the larger crossbars of the TracRac.
For tie downs I recommend the Rhino-Rack Cam Buckle Cinch Straps - Locking - 11-1/2' Long x 1" Wide - 496 lbs - Qty 2 # RRRTD35L to securely lock your boat in place.
