If you decide to flat tow your 2002 Cadillac Escalade EXT, you will need a base plate kit, tow bar, safety cables, a lighting solution and a supplemental braking system. Keep in mind that when checking the online copy of the vehicle's owner's manual, it does state that the vehicle is not designed to be towed with any wheels on the ground and that doing so may damage drivetrain components. I recommend checking your owner's manual to see if there are any restrictions or steps that need to be taken, as you may have a different model vehicle.
For a base plate kit, you can use the Roadmaster XL Base Plate Kit # 199-5. This kit features removable draw bars that will make the baseplates barely visible when not towing the vehicle.
For a tow bar, the Roadmaster Falcon 2 Tow Bar # RM-520 should work great and has a 6,000 pound weight capacity. The extra long telescoping arms allow for better maneuverability and easier towing. Used along with the Roadmaster Base Plate Kit referenced above, this will allow for a fast and easy hookup or disconnect using the included quick-disconnect components.
For safety cables, the RoadMaster 68 Inch Single Hook, Coiled Safety Cables # RM-643 are a great choice and will offer a 6,000 pound weight capacity.
Then for a lighting solution on your Escalade, I recommend the Optronics Heavy Duty Magnetic Tow Light. The removable magnetic lights will provide signal lights for your Escalade without having to tap into the vehicle's wiring or run wires under the vehicle.
Lastly, for a supplemental braking system, the Blue Ox Patriot Portable Braking System # BLU37TR is a great choice. This is a proportional braking system that will physically press down on the brake pedal inside your Escalade at the same time and with the same intensity that you apply to them in your motorhome.
You may also need a high-low adapter to keep the tow bar level. I have included a link that will take you to our available selection of high-low adapters as well as a helpful article that explains how to choose one for your setup. I have also attached an article on flat towing that you may find helpful.
