We are looking at tie down system. Are the more expensive fast guns twice as good as derringer for 310$ or are they just for convenience?

The main difference between the Torklift Locking FastGun Turnbuckles, # TLS9522-2-LK, and the AnchorGuard Derringer Turnbuckles, # TLS9020, is how the camper tie-downs are mounted on your truck.

The FastGun # TLS9522-2-LK are designed to be used with frame mounted camper tie-downs. These tie-downs will mount to the frame of the truck giving a strong base to connect the turnbuckles to the camper and the truck.

The AnchorGuard Derringer turnbuckles are designed to be used with bed and bumper mounted camper tie-downs.

Frame mounted tie-downs are better because the connection point between camper and truck is the steel frame of your vehicle. Using the frame will make for a stronger more secure connection for the turnbuckles.
