Trailer Tire Recommendation to Replace 205/60-15 Tire Size
Published 03/08/2017 >
Question:
I recently purchased an older used 16foot utility trailer that is in decent shape other than the previous owner had passenger car tires on it. The wheels are solid rims without the holes you see on more modern white painted wheel they are also 5 on 5 bolt pattern. The current tires are 205/60/15 on the front axle and 205/65/15 on the rear axle. I would like to put new 205/75/15 or 225/75/15 tires on the current wheels. Will the either of these tires fit on the wheels I have? How do I tell my wheel width with the current tire on? Is a 5 on 5 a standard trailer lug pattern? Thanks in advance I know its a lot of questions.

I would go with the tire size the closest to what you have on the trailer so that you know there wouldn't be any clearance issues at all. Good call in getting rid of the passenger vehicle tires though. That could get dangerous if left on.
The part # TR20515D would work well for you. The price isn't bad and the speed rating is 81 mph which is much higher than most trailer tires. This will fit your rims easily. No need to replace them if yours are still good.
