I also now find out I need to find a replacement key for the locks. The number on the lock is 2802 thank you.

It sounds like you need replacement keys for a Thule or SportRack product with lock number 2802. We have just what you need.
You will use part # THKEYN2802. Since this is sold individually I suggest you order a couple to have a spare handy.
