Does Purple Wire of Kwikee RV Steps Need to be Connected for them To Function

Question:

MY KWAKEE STEP QUIT WORKING. FOUND A PURPLE WIRE THAT COMES OUT OF THE CONTROLLER NOT CONNECTED TO ANYTHING AND I CANNOT FIND WHAT IT IS SUPPOSED TO CONNECT TO. CAN YOU TELL ME WHAT THIS WIRE CONNECTS TO AND IF THERE IS A FUSE SOMEWHERE IN THE IN THE SYSTEM.

The purple wire on Kwikee step modules does not need to be connected for it to function as this is an optional porch light switch circuit. Yours not being connected is most likely not the issue. See attached wiring diagram. In this diagram you'll see the location of the fuses that protect the wiring as well.

Let me know if the fuses all look good and if you can get me more info on your steps and we can further diagnose from there.
