Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2016 Volvo XC90 R-Design

Question:

I have a 2016 Volvo XC90 R-Design so it has the body styling kit with spoilers I am interested to know if either the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver Class III - 2inch /or the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver Class III - 2 will fit on my car without cutting or modifying the rear spoiler bodywork?

The two available custom fit trailer hitches for your 2016 Volvo XC90 R-Design both require removal and/or modification of some rear components on your vehicle during installation.

I recommend the Curt Class III Round Tube Receiver Hitch, # C13233 because the installation process is slightly easier as it does not require you to temporarily remove the the bumper like on the Draw-Tite. This hitch has a 2 inch receiver opening with a gross towing weight capacity of 6,000 lbs and a maximum tongue weight of 900 lbs. You will need to temporarily remove or loosen the underbody panels/fascia and the heat shield on your vehicle during installation. The instructions state that you will also need to trim the heat shield.
