What is the Awning Rail that Slide Toppers Attach To

What is it and do I need it to attach the topper to the side of my trailer?

Awning rails are the rails that are above the slide out that the slide topper like part # LCV000163290 would attach to. You have to have this on your RV to install a slide topper and we do not carry them.
If you check out the picture I attached you will see our installer with his hand on the awning rail.
