The Demco Hijacker Autoslide Fifth Wheel Trailer Hitch # DM8550034 installs onto industry standard rails. The only issue with removing the hitch from your truck is that it's heavy. The head itself is approximately 40 pounds and base is around 200 pounds. So the issue with removal is strictly weight.
To install the Hijacker in your 2016 GMC 2500 you can use the Installation Kit # DM8552011-71.
Also, if you'd like to install a 7-way connector inside the bed of your truck to make it easier to hook up to your trailer you can use the wiring harness # DM8555002.
