Best 5th Wheel Hitch For 2024 Chevy 2500 4dr Crew Cab With 6-3/4' Bed

Updated 01/28/2025 | Published 01/21/2025

Question:

I have a 2024 Chevy k2500hd 4dr crew cab with the bed measuring 82.25 inches standard bed. I am looking for suggestions on what fifth wheel hitch to install. The truck is equipped with factory pucks and goose neck connection. I am towing a 2016 keystone impact 311. It weights 16,200 lbs. I appreciate any assistance you can provide.

Hey Justin, I can definitely help with this. I do recommend going with a sliding 5th wheel hitch since your truck is not a long bed. The slider helps with clearance on tight turns. What I recommend is the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch w/ Slider # BWRVK3775. This is made specifically for the factory pucks in your Chevy, so installation is simple. The slider allows for 12" of front-to-back travel. Overall the B&W hitches are super solid. The head is fully articulating so you get smooth turning with less chucking. The slider and jaw mechanism are easy to operate. They are made here in the USA too so they come highly recommended.

It is worth noting this 5th wheel hitch weighs about 250 lbs. So you may need an extra pair of hands to get it in the bed. The head (70 lbs) easily separates from the base so that can make it a bit easier to manage. But just to be realistic and honest, its heavy. Thats the price you pay for a well-built hitch I suppose.

Also, I recommend using the Curt 5th Wheel Wiring Harness # C53CR to add a 7-way plug to your bed, if you don't have one there already.

I have linked a few install videos for you below. If there is anything else I can do just go to the comments with any questions.

@JustinB because 5th wheel hitches and wiring are custom fitted for your truck, not for the camper. The kingpin on your toy hauler is universal and will work with any brand of 5th wheel hitch.
