Is the SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO a Good Quality Supplemental Braking System
Updated 01/24/2017 | Published 01/23/2017 >
Question:
I read that the motorhome notification system is not very good that it is simply a light shining on the rear camera. I used a US Gear Unified Tow system before and thought it was a good setup with easy notification system. How does the SMI Compare?

In a word the SMI Stay-In-Play DUO # SM99251 is awesome though the brake pedal monitor leaves something to be desired like you said. There is nothing stopping you from running the power wire for it all the way to the cab of the RV but its LED lights are very bright so keep that in mind.
Our shop manager likes the DUO more than the other braking systems that are similar because it is easier to install with smaller components and works really well. I recommend it the most of all of the braking systems available. I have linked a video showing an example installation for you.
