Recommendation onf Timbren Helper Springs for a 2006 Toyota Tundra

Question:

I need advice on how to beef up my 2006 4x4 double cab tundra to carry a 1000lb overhead popup camper. I also occasionally pull a 6x10 loaded dump trailer. When I put the camper on the truck it sags and rests on the bumper pads. Obviously I took it right off! I was wondering if Timbrens would be a good solution for me. My question is how far will the truck sag before the timbrens actually do anything? I don’t want the rear sagging very much even though it’s supported. I had firestone air bags on a ford f250 to haul a large hard-sided overhead camper. These worked fine other than the cost and having to checking the pressure. I know onboard air compressors are the way to go but I don’t want to spend that kind of money. What about helper springs?

The Timbren Suspension Enhancement System for the 2006 Toyota Tundra, # TTORTUN4, are designed to sit 1 inch above the axle after installed. The 1 inch clearance allows for the existing OEM suspension to operate under normal conditions. Once a load is set in on the truck the your vehicle's springs will work to control the load until it has reach the 1 inch clearance. The Timbren system then will take over to enhance the springs carrying ability of the truck's load.

The Timbren system will not touch the axle without a load on the rear of your vehicle. So, if your vehicle is sagging with no load, then there might be an issue with the vehicle's factory installed suspension system. You may need to have your vehicle's springs or shocks inspected to see if they are operating properly before adding the Timbren air springs.
