Question:
I just bought a new 2017 Highlander with a tow package and wiring for a 4-way connector. Am looking to convert the 4-way to both 4-way and 7-way with a decent brake controller as well. What would be my best option with parts that you carry? Thank you

To convert the 4-Way wiring harness to a 7-Way and 4-Way wiring harness on your 2017 Toyota Highlander, I recommend using the Universal Install Kit # ETBC7. This will plug right into your factory tow package wiring and includes a bracket for the 7-Way and 4-Way harness for easy installation at the rear of your Highlander. There is a little bit of drilling that you will have to do under your dash so that you can run some of the wiring to your brake controller. I recommend using the Loctite Silicone Gasket Maker # LT37467 to seal off any openings after you run the wiring.
For a brake controller I recommend using the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195. It will work for trailer with up to 4 axles and features a 360-degree vertical plane operating range, which means that it is pretty versatile when it comes to the installation. It also has a lifetime warranty.
I have included a help article as well as a video where we installed both of these products on a 2013 Highlander.
