hello I am looking for a handle for the gate on my enclosed trailer mine is 24inches long the smallest one I see is 36inches will this still work? Can I adjust the distance between the hinges

The handle and lock I recommend for your trailer is part # PLR3057-SS. This is a stainless steel lock.
This system does not come with the required 3/4-inch pipe but you would be able to use a 24-inch length of pipe to work for your trailer.
A couple other kits you may want to check out are part # PLR158 which attaches to a 3/4 inch pipe, or if you want ot use a 1-inch pipe you can check out part # 383200.
The kits that you mentioned like part # 305736 that come with the pipe welded to the hinge would not work for the 24-inch door you said you need.
