Will Bearing Buddy BB1938 Fit Spindle Nut that Sticks Out 1-1/8 inch
Published 12/22/2016 >
Question:
Hi , Ive been looking at your BB1938 to replace an aluminum dust cap measuring 1.934 OD. The spindle with nut extends beyond the hub by 1.125. My concern with the BB1938 is the internal clearance of the bearing buddy as relates to the end of the spindle. The old dust cap is 1.50inch in depth. If this is of any help the trailer frame/axle assembly is from a Gator camping trailer circa 1954-1962 ? I dont know the exact year. The inside of the hub has been cleaned and lightly sanded so the press fit would be a difference of .004. Concerning the relative diameters does this seem do able? Thanks,

Expert Reply:
Your spindle nut extending beyond the hub about 1-1/8 inch is pretty normal. The depth of the Bearing Buddy part # BB1938 easily accommodate that and based on your other dimensions would fit in that regard as well.
