How to Wire Battery of Trailer Breakaway Kit

Question:
I have this kit and replacing. I am sorry to say I forgot to take a pic or watch closely how wiring inside box was connected to battery. Battery is marked clearly + and -. Wires are red and white. Normally red wire is hot and should be attached to +. But, normally ground - is black. So, in this scenario is red + and white - ground? Thanks.

In most trailer wiring installations, whether on the vehicle side or the trailer side, the ground runs through a WHITE wire. You can see how to wire your Replacement Breakaway Box # HM20121 by referring to the linked article on breakaway systems.
