How To Tell When A Trailer Tire Was Manufactured

We are looking at purchasing provider tires and are wondering how we will know what year they were manufactured?

Expert Reply:
The date of the tire production on a tire is 4-digits on the tire sidewall.
The first 2 digits are the week number and the secon 2-digits are the year. An example is if a tire has the code 2216 it was manufactured the 22nd week of 2016.
Typically, it takes about 6-months from the time of production to the shelf. The tires we carry are stored indoor and usually are less than 1 year old.
